HOW IT WORKS

We’re planning to revolutionize inter-generational relationships in the UK.

By connecting students who require housing and elders who require basic care services, we aim to solve three problems with our solution.

Elders in the UK

A significant proportion of older people require care and support, and it is estimated that over 1.6 million of them in the UK, do not get the help they need. When care and support is delivered proactively, before a condition worsens, this can lead to better outcomes and ease the burden on the NHS and our social care system – freeing up those resources for those who would need them most.

Students in the UK

There are around 3 million students enrolled in higher education in the UK, of which around 680,000 are international students. As a result of the cost-of-living crisis, students are struggling with their finances, studies, and mental health. Rent is by far the largest expense for students and the average student’s maintenance loan falls short of covering their living costs by £582 per month – greater than the average amount spent for rent.

Care system in the UK

More than 500,000 people are waiting for an assessment of their needs by social workers, including the thousands who are stuck on NHS waiting lists for support or even just waiting to have their needs assessed. 2.6 million people in England aged over 50 are unable to get any form of care. The social care system in the UK is under extreme pressure due to multiple reasons.
